Effects of this medicine
This medicine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic and shows anti-inflammatory or analgesic effects by suppressing production of prostaglandin and bradykinin, which are involved in inflammation.
It is usually used to treat inflammation/pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, low back pain, frozen shoulder, neck-shoulder-arm syndrome, tenosynovitis, post-surgery or injury.
Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist
If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you have peptic ulcer, blood abnormality, liver disorder, renal disorder, cardiac function failure, hypertension, aspirin-induced asthma and a history of it.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)
In general, for adults, take 2 tablets (200 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, twice a day, after breakfast and dinner. The dosage may be adjusted according to the disease, age or symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, itch, hives, erythema, photosensitivity, purpura, ecchymosis, skin vasculitis, abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, stomatitis, indigestion, gastritis, abnormal liver function, abnormal renal function, anemia and edema. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
facial pallor, cold sweat, dizziness on standing up [shock]
respiratory distress, hives, generalized flushing [anaphylactic symptoms]
gastric pain, vomiting, vomiting of blood/melena [peptic ulcer (with occasional perforation)]
fever, redness and swelling of skin/mucosa with rash or blisters, conjunctival hyperemia [mucocutaneous ocular syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis]
general malaise, anemic symptoms, sore throat [pancytopenia, hemolytic anemia, agranulocytosis, decreased platelets]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.
